About Chris

Hailing from Australia, archaeologist and award-winning author Chris Moss is currently releasing his debut Fantasy novel The Rising Herald Saga.

Chris began writing fantasy while studying Archaeology, where his was fascinated by the way that cultural groups change as they interact, including peaceful trade, economic competition or outright war. The Traitor’s Reliquary is therefore a tale of conflict, intrigue and revenge, inspired by Chris’ broad knowledge of history and journeys through Australia, Britain, Italy and Russia.

In terms of Chris’ other profession, over the last 15 years Chris has worked with colonial settlements, Aboriginal cultural sites, museums, development groups and Aboriginal communities, as well as acting as a trainer and mentor for students entering cultural heritage management. Some of his most vivid experiences of practical archaeology have included a brief stint working on Murujuga, the largest rock art site in the word, tracking down the lost colonial brothels of his home city and being attacked by kangaroos in almost every part of Western Australia.

When not wandering the bush tracking down old ruins or buried under a pile of old maps, Chris enjoys, table top games,  dancing around the house with his wife with and three daughters.
